Here's another poem I wrote during the Spring Poetry Cohort back in March with Kimberley Phinney This one is a spoken word tracing one of the greats- namely Maya Angelou. Her poem Still I Rise gives me chills everytime I read it. Enough You may write me off when you see my youthful face. You think I’m much too young and worldly— “She is enough,” I hear Him say. Do my doubts unsettle you? Questions rattling like a cage, gnawing at my insides— “She is enough,” still He says. Does my sadness upset you? Dark clouds often in my way, as I battle all my demons— “Still enough,” I hear Him say. And what of all my failures? I’ve so often lost my way, so many trips and stumbles— “She’s still enough,” is what He says. Don’t my emotions scare you? Feelings fluctuate each day, feeling everything and nothing— “Still enough,” I hear Him say. What of the way I’ve bruised my body? “I was battered for your wounds.” What of the way I’ve mistreated loved ones? “My forgiveness sees you through.” What about when I am afraid that I will never measure up? “Enough.” Is there nothing that can shake You? Is there nothing that will change You? Is there nothing that will make You run away? “No,” He says. “Because I live, you are enough. Because I love, you are enough. Because I forgive you and I’ve freed you, because it’s Me that’s working through you, because there’s nothing that will take My love away, and just because I AM the one that says it to be true, with Me, there is enough of you.”

Thank you for sharing Amanda. This is a good reminder of we are in Christ.
I can see this poem being in a picture book and read to little anxious minds. It’s beautiful!
